EDITORIAL

From the cover onwards there's an ecclesiastical flavour to this issue. At this years AGM., the Chairman with obvious personal feeling, welcomed the addition of another Reverend to our ranks. To many members the existence of a Chaplain as one of our Office-Bearers is meaningful.

To all of us the remains of Kilneuair Church must be precious and I think the tiny oratory is particularly significant. It merits inclusion with the half dozen 'Places of Interest' listed in our Association leaflet. The churchyard and ruins are well hidden, almost completely surrounded by commercial forestry near the north end of the Loch Awe to Loch Fyne public footpath. The trees form a natural sanctuary.

As I write this, the piecemeal renting out of office space in Dudhope Castle continues and in Stop Press, the up-to-date situation will be given. Once arrangements are concluded for visitors to Dudhope, and I stand liable to be accused of 'counting chickens' by writing that, our Association leaflet will be re-issued to include these. Also with the approval of the Owner of Kilneuair, a note on this sacred place will be added. Meantime the word "Restored', has been superimposed on the Dudhope Castle paragraph!

Are all Editors thinking of their next issue? I've always hoped for un-hurried compilation of an orderly bulletin. This No.14 has been drafted again against a deadline of completion before setting out by rail to a son's wedding in Australia. So, yet again, apologies for a scrappy job and I realise, one of these years when fully retired, with no strict time-tabling, no excuse will be warranted or tolerated.
