EDITORIAL

First of all I would like to thank everyone for their kind words regarding last year’s Skirmisher, my first as Editor. I hope that you will all enjoy this year’s edition as well.

As some of you may already know, my husband, Graham, has set up a Scrimgeour Clan Web site on the Internet. The address is www.scrimgeour.co.uk Many people who are not members of the association have already looked it at and I hope that it will attract new members to the Association. Graham has contributed an article including some of the feedback that he has received so far.

To continue on a technological note, many thanks to Jack in Canada for his sections which this year came by the wonders of e-mail.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the Skirmisher this year. I hope that you will enjoy the new additions which include a crossword and a separate section on genealogy and that others will be encouraged to submit articles and other items for next years Skirmisher.

My biggest problem this year has been to decide what to put on the front cover of this issue. I thought about the 11 week scan picture of the imminent newest Scrimgeour (due 31 January 2000), but then decided that it had a limited audience! I hope that you like the picture of our Chief looking resplendent as the Standard Bearer. This is from a new book called Keepers of the Kingdom published by Weidenfield and Nicholson (£25).

Just a quick reminder that contributions on general UK matters should be sent to me at the above address and on Genealogical and Overseas matters should be sent to Jack Scrimgeour in Ottawa.
